The EB-5 immigrant investor program was created by the Immigration Act of 1990 as a way to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. It offers an opportunity for foreign nationals to obtain permanent residency in the United States by investing in a new commercial enterprise that creates jobs for American workers.
In order to qualify for this program, an investor must invest a minimum of $800,000 if the target project is located in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA), or $1,050,000 in other areas. The investment must create at least 10 new full-time jobs for American workers.
The EB-5 program is administered by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which is part of the Department of Homeland Security.
The minimum investment amount is $800,000 if the target project is located in a TEA, or $1,050,000 in other areas.
Obtain conditional permanent residency for the investor, spouse, and unmarried children under 21 years of age.
